When there is no milk in the house...

then we know we will have guests drop in. It is the Murphy's law on milk around here. Milk is a very crucial part of day to day life here...primarily because it is a main ingredient in chai. And when there are guests, no visit is complete without serving up some chai. We have been milk less for the past 36 hours...and you guessed it, during those 36 hours unexpected guests dropped in. I tried many things to distract from the mandatory chai serving. For one guest I served freshly baked banana bread, and another guest got orange flavored Tang, but I could see it all over their faces - the chai was sorely missed. So tomorrow we will go to the store and buy loads of milk in efforts to make up for not serving people chai because I feel really bad about it and then no one will come to visit until we're out of milk again!
